Argh! Rain
Rain robbed us of a potentially amazing set-up at the Eden in Culcutta.
To be fair, it was even steven when it was called off. Lanka was rolling along at 5.5 runs-per-over in 18 or so overs. More importantly, Jayasuriya was on 61 (63 balls) and a massive innings looking ominous.
However, India had got 3 big wickets and another wicket then would have put us under immense pressure. And then, Lanka would probably have to deal with the dew if we did have bowled second.
All in all, I think Lanka will go back the happier side since Jayasuriya got a start; India will wish to analyse their bowling. The spearhead, Zaheer Khan and the upcoming S Sreesanth came in for some tap. The huge plus was Munaf Patel - continued to impress.
This sets up for the match on Sunday @ Rajkot. I am hoping I will find some place to watch it.
