The wait...

Yep! Long time no hear!

Jus got busy with a lot of things especially my thesis - it will be done in a month and then I will be much more comfortable.

Still looking for the elusive job break.

In terms of all else, it is well - still having good fun with friends - a good BBQ meet-up at Chamila's highlighted with games of taboo and charades! It was fun!

Sri Lanka managed to lose to Bangladesh but is on the verge of trashing them in the 3rd ODI - so yay! Well, the fact that we lost one is still discerning but hey - that is Lanka for you!

Manjula celebrated her birthday on the 16th of Feb - god! Time flies by so quickly - a few years ago we were all studying CIMA and now she is married, with a kid! Whee!

Otherwise, it has been all good! I am hoping to be at my nerdy best as well as looking to work a lot more on my thesis - full throttle!

Cheers all!

the Grammy's!

Amazing Performances from the Grammy! (via Youtube.com)

Madonna and Gorillaz (Madonna is my favourite artisit of all time!)

Kanye West and Jamie Foxx - Gold-Digger!

Jay-Z, Sir Paul McCartney and Linkin' Park rock the Grammy's!

American Idol's favourite child - Kelly Clarkson

Mariah Carey: We Belong Together

I have to say this:

Madonna looks hot and young and the Gorillaz animation is amazing.

Kanye West is god. His cocky attitude is justified because he is that good.

Encore. Encore. Encore. Encore. No wonder I listened to only this song for two days. It rocks!

Mariah Carey - Haiz! Hehe! Her hand gestures are as good as her acting. But she has nice tits.

More Grammy Stuff...

Kanye West " I guess we will never know!"

TLC - Waterfalls

Madonna - Nothing Really Matters

Shan's B'day

Happy B'day to Peishan! (I gotta log this date somehow)

I have also started an excel sheet - hope that I have enough friends and family to cover the 365 days - preferably friends since family would kinda be weird - considering I am the lowest in the family tree I might be burdened with excessive reprodcutive pressure.

Anyways, as always, I seemed to have done a lot and nothing at the same. Unlike Madonna saying that time goes by so slowly - I have no such complaints. Father time in Singapore just races along - my month long holiday in SL was so slow - but here so quick that I have already been here 6 weeks and nothing.

Got a start on my thesis - but lots more to be done. I hope to get at least a B+ for it.

Well, its been a hell of a week. I think my "message of the week" would be that I should hold on to my friends and not open my big mouth and hurt them. I know I think I am joking but I tend to take it far. I would like to keep reminding myself about this because I have this innate ability to say something stupid. And also, I manage to SMS the wrong person - all the freaking time. Talk about foot-in-the-mouth.

Apart from that, my other modules are good. I have got a fun group for my term paper in 4202 - Meera, Nitasya, Kamariah, Huyen and I. It was fun doing the hollywood with the extended group consisting of Brandon, Charissa and Chris. Feeling nostalgic about how far these school days will be if I get a good job.

On that note, I am applying again. Whee. Hearing stories about others getting good breaks - the feelings are somewhere between anger, jealousy and heart-break. Yep! Everyone keeps telling me that it will come - I have faith. But till it does, I am going to digress.

On cricket front - whoohoo! Without the a bad omen from Meera (where we managed to crash from 137 for 1 to 222 all out), we upstaged Australia in the first final - in a best of three. They are being whooped - and they don't how big a can of whoopass Lanka has just opened.

Also, got into Open House. I have a dilemma - two offers. Waiting to see which is more lucrative - IRO pays me $ 120 and CNM may pay $ 8 per hour. Gotta wait and see!

Also, you have to watch this - it is the most ridiculously funny video - Black Bush.

I have seemed to have garnered quite a fan club thanks to the rat problem. The latest is that - well he is MIA. All my stuff is safe. Thank you. However, I am still waiting on the compensation from the greedy EA office - and I say greedy because they would GIRO deduct a $ 20 for a simple lock-out before you could say "Halleujah" but take ages and a million questions when they could not sort out a rodent problem.

It was also a religious week and lots of mosque going - it was fun - the only place that I really feel like I am at home is at mosque. Simply because the whole ambience of the mosque is so like the mosque people in Sri Lanka - but as soon as I am on that 197 from City Hall, father time, takes over again!

Another fantastic thing was the get-together at Madhu's for her birthday thingy. Walao! Good fun le. We played pictionary with her super-on (and bending on cukcoo) friends - Jalpa and Deepthi (sp?). And she had some of her other friends over and we played a loud and animated session of Pictionary at her home - then we left to a restaurant in City Hall for dinner - I will have to check the name from Madhu. The dinner got better because I met Seema dearest! Hehe! She is still chirpy as ever - she can talk at the speed of light I tell you. If we ever needed to get to Mars in a hurry, she would be the fuel. It was a fantastic day!

What else? I really can't recall anything more - I think there is a lot more that hapenned but this is all I can remember.

Hehe! I need a new template for my blog and need to make it more snazzy.

Say what you want... by Texas

Twenty seconds on the bad time
I'm a feel you're on the run
Never live too long to make right
I see you're doing fine
And when I get that feeling
I can no longer slide
I can no longer run
I don't know
And when I get that feeling
I can no longer hide
For it's no longer fun
I don't know

Yeah, you can say what you want
But I won't change my mind
I'll feel the same about you
And when you tell me your reasons
But it won't change my feelings
I'll feel the same
About you
What I am is what you want of me

Yeah, now that I'm not there
I took the tambourines away from you
It's turned and I don't care

Yeah, you can say what you want
But I won't change my mind
I'll feel the same about you
And when you tell me your reasons
But it won't change my feelings
I'll feel the same
About you

Yeah, you can say what you want
But I won't change my mind
I'll feel the same about you
And when you tell me your reasons
But it won't change my feelings
I'll feel the same
About you
I've said goodnight
Try to sleep tight
Ah just dream of me
Go close your eyes
Cause I'll close mine
The sun will shine from time to time
Oh, just dream of me, Yeah

Yeah, you can say what you want
But I won't change my mind
I'll feel the same about you
And when you tell me your reasons
But it won't change my feelings
I'll feel the same
About you

24/7 not enough

Whee! A lot of stuff going on - working on the 4202 Hollywood, getting religious by going to mosque, and just general fun stuff which I will update later!

Woah! And something about the caricatures drawn on Mohammed - I feel kinda stupid now since I do sometimes have used Jesus in a light that is a tad bit unsavoury or myself have commented or laughed on the jokes made about him. I can clearly say that it was a stupid thing to do.

For one, I am also pissed off as to what the Danish dudes have drawn - I mean - why the hell do you want to anger the muslims? Anyways, though, people are urging the muslims to forgive and forget, and the masses will move on, as they have always. However, the faction, and mind you the extreme faction, are going to screw anything or everything that looks remotely Danish for a while - see: the Danish embassy in Damascus was burnt down.

Nothing really else to update - except that I have a lot to talk about and will do so in a week's time when I am less busy. For now, I need all the gods of all religions alike to pray that I do OK in my thesis!

A wonderful quote by Mark Twain
"When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished as how much he had learned in seven years."

Defiant asshole

Well, this is pretty much how the office manager must be thinking of me - I have pretty much blasted her over the past couple of weeks relating to the rat issue. As you know, the rat has caused damage and knowing how unhelpful OSA is, I put down in words what I felt about the manner in which it was handled and also asked for a months refund in rent - for all of the damage he had caused.

I thought it to be fair for the amount of damage the rat had caused - considering that the office charges us a fee of $ 20 each time we are locked out of our rooms.

And that was that - I had to wait 8 days before I got a curt response from Cheryl, the office manager, suggesting I should change rooms. I lost it. And I wrote this is in retaliation:

Dear Cheryl,
Thsnks for the mail.
I am unsure whether he is there anymore. (Referring to the rat)
I am not willing to change my room due to your negligence. It is cumbersome to settle down and move somewhere. Considering the extent of the problem and the damage that has been caused I think it was a fair request (the compensation for a month being my request) - after all, I had told Rino several times to sort this out while I was away from my December vacation - nothing was done and now you are not willing to accede to my request.
I am willing to go further to ensure that I am compensated - I will speak to OSA again. And as many times as necessary till it is approved. Please do not take this lightly since I do not think you understand the amount of damage that he has caused
1. Ate my lamp wire - completely
2. Loss of Lan point - non functioning for over 10 days due to the rat eating it
3. Ate my brand new trouser
4. Countless amount of food items - bread, chocolates and so on
5. Hygeiene issues - keeping on cleaning his waste and so on
I would appreciate it if you could sort this matter out amicably since I have been through a lot and will make sure I will be treated fairly. There are many times that my requests have fallen on deaf ears and I will seek legal consent since I believe there is clear negligence in this issue and will go public if necessary.
Mustan

Yeah. I think I managed to not lose it completely but this email was followed up by a few and now I have a meeting with OSA, which in my opinion, is like NUSSU - good for nothing.
